Lisa Colon is a Partner in the Fort Lauderdale Office of Smith, Currie & Hancock, LLP. Lisa is Board Certified in Construction Law by the Florida Bar, and is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Mediator. Sher represents owners, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals in public and private real estate and construction matters. Lisa has experience with federal, state and local government contracting issues. Lisa is deeply immersed in matters relating to small and minority businesses. She serves as General Counsel for the National Association of Minority Contractors. She is a fellow with the American Bar Association, Forum on Construction Law, and regularly lectures on a variety of construction and government contracting issues. Lisa received her B.A. and J.D. from the University of Miami.

Monique Owens has always been a social justice trailblazer. Serving her community is no stranger to her. Serving as a Police Officer for the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department for over 10 years made her more aware of the challenges we face as a community and how our society is affected by our environment, economic status, race and education. Her love for seeing other people excel and be successful led to her role as a professional Comedienne. Bringing people together with social issues and awareness through laughter allowed her to travel the world and reach others. In 2014, She auditioned for “Showtime at the Apollo” and won. In 2015, she started her own talent agency called “Naturally Funny Talent Agency, LLC” to provide comedy entertainment and also guide new comedians on what to expect in the business of entertainment. On November 5th,2019 she was elected the first African American Mayor of Eastpointe, Michigan and in 2017, she made history as the first African American Councilwoman in Eastpointe, Michigan making history twice in only two years breaking the glass ceiling to help bridge the gap on so many levels. She wanted more for our youth because she understands that no matter where you come from doesn’t determine where you are going. She started a 4-h program, in Eastpointe which she was a part of as a child, to teach the youth about critical thinking, self-worth and giving back to the community. She has partnered up with local business owners to provide community events that cater to not only our residents but surrounding areas as well.

Alvina Mickel started her career in the Merchant Service/Financial Service Industry back in 1987 with National Bank Card Company as a chargeback specialist, she was responsible for cardholder disputes filed against merchants. She became the Customer Service Supervisor and move into the role of a Relationship Manager in the Banking Services Unit where she was responsible for negotiating contracts, training clients on new products and services.
Alvina continued her role as a relationship manager in 1995, after National Bank Card Company sold its company to First Data one of the largest credit card processing companies in the United States. After First Data sold the banking services unit to iPayment Inc. in 2004, Alvina transitioned with the new company continuing her role as Relationship Manager.
In 2016 Alvina decided with the knowledge she has acquired over the many years in the Merchant Service/Financial Service Industry she would branch out on her own. She partnered with MerchantPro Express (MPX) as an Independent Agent Owner. Alvina has developed card processing solutions for countless businesses, she understands that each business has unique needs and deserves personalized service and support. Alvina is also co-owner of Prostyle Real Estate Investors.
Alvina belonged to several chambers of commerce and is currently a member of the National Association of Black Women in Construction (NABWIC), Lower Township Chamber of Commerce in NJ, NAACP, and other networking groups in New York.
